MODIFIER

Sauvage

Sauvage is an Eau de Toilette from 2015, composed by François Demachy, by Dior. In the layering system it plays the role of a modifier — bright, volatile openers — citrus, aquatic, fresh — that lift the top of a build. It reads as fresh, clean, with strong longevity and strong projection, and is at its best for Work, Casual, Date Night in mild, hot, cold weather.

What to layer with Sauvage

The system pairs Sauvage with bottles that share its base notes and complement its role. The strongest partners from the library:

Greenley anchor

Both carry Cedar and Patchouli deep in the composition, so they read as one accord rather than two fragrances fighting. As a anchor, Greenley anchors the drydown and stretches the longevity of the whole build.

Both carry Vetiver and Patchouli deep in the composition, so they read as one accord rather than two fragrances fighting. As a bridge, Colonia C.L.U.B. ties the two together so the transition from top to base is seamless.

Eros bridge

Both carry Vetiver and Cedar deep in the composition, so they read as one accord rather than two fragrances fighting. As a bridge, Eros ties the two together so the transition from top to base is seamless.

Météore bridge

Both carry Vetiver and Cedar deep in the composition, so they read as one accord rather than two fragrances fighting. As a bridge, Météore ties the two together so the transition from top to base is seamless.
